We moved to North Carolina from South Florida at the end of the summer in 1998. It may sound odd, but this was the first real change of seasons that I experienced. And if you can call December through February in North Carolina's Piedmont "a real winter", then, this was my first. Naturally, our kids got sick. We took them to the doctor's office to get them checked out. Being a teaching facility, there was an intern there that did the initial exam. When the doctor came in, the intern reported that, after listening to their lungs and doing a check up, she felt they had pneumonia. The doctor rather rudely dismissed her findings and said it was nothing but a common cold. You can see where this is going.... Three days later, after their condition worsened, we took them to a different pediatric practice. Five minutes later, after one listen to the lungs the diagnosis was clear: pneumonia. We haven't switched doctors since.
Like our pediatrition, a good project manager is not something you ever want to loose. Finding someone who is good at managing everything that makes up a project--the different personalities of the team, the dependencies, the schedule--makes doing the work much easier and dramatically increases the liklihood of success. But every good project manager needs a good tool. It's my pleasure to introduce Wrike, a social project management application available in the apps market. Here are some of the highlights and a quick video put together by the Wrike team.

Wrike – A Jive App For Your Project Success
Often you can find yourself buried in numerous tasks delegated to your team that are scattered across your e-mails, chats, calendars and multiple to-do lists on each of your devices, including mobile and tablet ones. Not surprisingly, this nightmare may often end up with overlooked tasks and deadlines. Wrike is a stress-relieving productivity tool that conveniently brings all project data into one shared place and gives real-time visibility into the project status, the team’s progress and every tiny detail that counts.
How can Wrike turn you into a project management rock star?
Wrike provides you with an amazingly rich set of project management features. Schedule tasks, assign them to your peers, attach files, visualize and adjust plans on the interactive Gantt chart – all these without leaving Jive. Tasks from Wrike can be easily brought to Jive’s stream, so that you’ll have the context of discussions close at hand.
To help your team get more things done together, Wrike enables you to share the data selectively with teams and individuals, and it takes care of communicating project updates to them, collecting status updates and reminding people about tasks.
The feature that deserves a special attention is Wrike’s top-class e-mail integration. Just imagine how handy it is to create tasks by simply forwarding e-mails to email@example.com and track progress right from your inbox! This eliminates the risk of lost assignments, missed updates and crossed wires. There are much more great features that you can benefit from after installing Wrike.
