Make no mistake about it, the era of the Consumerprise is... NOW! On Wednesday, we hosted a Jive Apps event where members of the media, like WSJ, Bloomberg, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune and others, could see first hand how Jive is blazing the trail by launching the first social enterprise apps market.
And they saw it in action! Live!
We started the evening with a cocktail reception so that our Jive Apps partners (AppFusions, Appirio, Box, Crowd Factory, Gliffy, Lingotek, RoundPegg, Rypple, SalesCrunch, SolutionSet, SurveyGizmo, ThreeWill, yaM Labs) could show off their killer apps!
Our CEO, Tony Zingale, started off the more formal part of the evening by welcoming everyone and setting the stage for a fireside chat between Sundar Pichai, Vice President, Chrome at Google, and a Jive Software board member, Jive's Senior Vice President of Business Development, Chris Morace.
(You can check out all the pix on the Jive Software Fan Page.)
Robin Bordoli then talked about how the Jive Apps Market addresses the two primary challeneges faced by enterprises, meeting the demands of employees for consumer like simplicity, and ensuring IT has the power it needs to serve and support the needs of the business. There's already been some great articles about what we're doing. Check out David Carr's article in InformationWeek Brainyard, Jive gathers Apps Market partners to discuss creating consumer quality apps with enterprise power, and Tomio Geron's article in Forbes, Google's Sundar Pichai: Mobile is Drving Web Apps In The Enterprise. When it was all said and done, it was clear: The Consumerprise era IS now. And it's all about the New Way to Business.
