I've noticed sometimes a refresh arrow icon appear above various states of my JiveApp? Is there a tag that I can use to make it such that this refresh button is always available, rather than refreshing the entire page? Is there a standard way to do this in the JS API that I have overlooked?
The refresh button is a new feature we introduced for apps that are in development mode (i.e. all apps in the sandbox here). We have made some performance optimizations in the framework which require us to cache some resources in the app.xml local to the Jive instance. This button actually does more than a simple browser refresh - it clobbers that local Jive cache of the app.xml. When you submit your app to the market and it's approved for production consumption, the button will no longer appear.
I know this has been answered already but I do want to point out an amazing tool... It doesn't solve this issue because it will automatically refresh your entire page but it is a helpful tool in situations like this.
LiveReload - looks at your directory, notices when it has been updated, and does the function of 'refreshing' for you whenever a change has been made. This only works with MAC but has been truly beneficial for me in production of a photo gallery and other applications for Jive. Just thought I would through that out there for this scenario too.
