Any pointer appreciated,
Check out the REST Api's Discussion service. Here's a link to the REST docs generally:
I've had some difficulty getting it working in all contexts (the doc's a little light on how to edit an existing post. I'm told using the PUT command is part of the process, but I have yet to confirm how to do it exactly, so if you figure that out, let me know!)
Thanks for the response Laura. Ill check out the REST API. Im also thinking there might be a simpler way to meet my requirement. What i really want to be able to do is embed a link in a seperate webapp (on another domain) that will open a window containing a Jive 'discussion' post with the Title pre-populated (with a reference to the object contained in the seperate app that the individual wishes to comment on. When i start a discussion in the correct group on our Jive instance the following url is used:
Can i add extra arguments to input.jspa so that it will pre-populate the displayed discussions title ?
Does this make sense ?
Having read the REST API, i can answer my own question. The trick was simply to add '&subject='A subject' to the end of the url.
