Jive Apps only run inside a Jive community. Is that your question? To get a better understanding of the Jive Apps experience checkout
I was asking if there is any way that a Jive App can be integrated into a jive space or vice-versa to give the user a unified UI experience. Like opening a jive App in a jive space related to that App
Apps can now be invoked when creating a discussion or document and those can be placed in a group or space, but we don't currently integrate into a Jive space per se. Any any content with an app artifact will allow the user to invoke the app in context, and that can occur in whichever group or space such a document exists.
ok , so it is like we can give a link to an App in a space. But i have seen that the App link changes especially for different users? URL is kind of flat not specific atleast for App. Then how can we give a link in this case?
Girish, We should probably expand out your use case here a bit to make sure we get the right solution. However, there are a few things you can try. In the past, our app partners have maintained a "mapping" between logic in their app and a place in Jive. For example, an opportunity in salesforce often is mapped to a group in jive. This mapping though is maintained by the app, not jive. Similar things have been done for projects. Depending on your use case, we might be able to do something similar here as well. Another solution is to pass a parameter on the URL indicating some piece of the app. When the view opens, you can simply pull the parameter from the URL and update the app as appropriate. Would either of these work for you??
